What we collect and why
- Account info. When you sign in with Google, we store your email address and account identifier, and any brand profiles, video jobs, and posting schedules you create.
- Content you submit.Business details, topics, and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate scripts and replies. Video jobs also use an image-generation provider and a text-to-speech provider to produce the final video.
- Connected platform accounts. If you connect YouTube or TikTok, we store an encrypted refresh token so Postara can post approved videos to that account on a schedule, without you needing to be present. We never see or store your platform password.
TikTok data specifically
When you connect a TikTok account, Postara requests permission to:
- Read your basic profile info (display name) - shown back to you in Postara so you can confirm which account is connected.
- Publish videos Postara generated, once you approve them in the Review Queue.
- Read your own existing videos' captions- used only as style/tone reference so new AI-generated scripts better match your established voice. These captions are fetched on demand, used to steer generation, and are not stored in Postara's database or shown to anyone else.
Postara never posts to TikTok without your prior approval of that specific video in the Review Queue, and you can disconnect your TikTok account at any time, which immediately stops all future reads and posts.
Third parties
Content you submit is processed by Anthropic (Claude) to generate scripts and chat replies - see anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Generated video assets are produced using third-party image and text-to-speech providers. Postara has no control over these providers' practices beyond what their own terms allow.
What we don't do
No advertising. No selling personal data. No tracking across other apps or websites.
Deleting your data
Disconnecting a platform account removes its stored credential immediately. To request deletion of your account or any other data Postara holds, contact deblabdevelopers@proton.me.
Changes
If what this app collects or does changes in a way that matters, this page is updated and the "Last updated" date above changes with it.
